UK Lap Dancing News and Information.

What Do Journalists Really Think About?

OK, its almost Christmas time for some fun. Just read this Guardian article about what lap dancers really think about when they are giving a lap dance. The usual type of article from them really, as you might expect. Funny though, stuff like this works both ways of course!

I’m sitting at my desk at the newspaper I work at. I’m about to write an article about being a lap dancer, but I’ve never been in a strip club before. I dont really have anything against strip clubs but I have to toe the line for the publication I work for. I want to look up some background about the industry but we had that memo about use of the web last week and I dont want to get a warning about inappropriate use of the web.

I’ve read all the stuff in the publication I work for about it but it doesnt tell me anything I didnt already know and is so narrow minded that I’m none the wiser about who works in the industry or the people who enjoy it on a regular basis. My name sounds a lot like Jeremy Clarkson and I dont want to isolate myself by looking foolish by not knowing.

OK, I’ve got another article to do about world music and (yes!) another about organic food I can work on those and slip out at lunch to Spearmint Rhino to do a little bit of background, and catch up later. Just as long as no-one finds out. I dont want people to think that I actually knew anything about something so obviously exploitative and probably illegal. I’ll slip out when everyone is doing their Yoga…

Honestly though, I hope the Guardian didnt pay much for that article or whoever wrote it was on day exchange from the local High School and got something from the whole journo experience.
