Lap Dancing and Football

Lap dancing and football, two things that go togther like…well beer and lap dancing. Both seen as glamourous and somewhat dangerous, both given an injection of cash in 1990′s. I think the lap dancing and strip industry can take a leaf out of top flight football. With the new measures taken to curb the industry certainly has parallels with the beautifull game in the early 90′s. With the rise of hooliganism and falling crowds the game was facing a bleak future.

Jean-Marc Bosman was the Belgian player who changed the face of the game by making contracts for a set duration with his case in 1995, thus making him an employee and not a slave who waited for clubs to free him from his contract. Could the strip industry take a lead from this action? The Bosman ruling gave power and proper rights to players as individuals and the EU parliament could be the place to take back rights that lap dancers have had eroded by arbitrary legislation introduced in the last month.

We need some assistance, lap dancers are people too! Club owners (and more so dancers) have rights and could easily use the Human Rights Act to get back the rights and status they have lost.
