The place LA, the time 1992. The skyline is on fire. Home, businesses, shops, local community buildings are being looted and destroyed. Hundreds of people have been or are soon to be killed. The place is declared a warzone with martial law in force. Kate Adie has been mobilised.
Well its not quite as bad as that, depending on how near you were to the epicentre of the riots and copycat outbreaks. But if you own or work in a strip club it might as well have been. Here comes the backlash. Think 90′s ‘Back To Basics’ with a 90′s newage PR edge. Make no doubt about it in the months to come there will be a backlash against the industry. The strip industry knows that this means that being lumped in with various things like disorderly drinkers (at chain pubs and big city pubs), crowds of youths (nowhere near any venue), Facebook, Twitter and anything else they can think of. The usual stuff but with an extra edge because they have the public ear.
I have said it before the indsutry is an easy target and never mind that the industry could not have had much to do with the troubles (the people doing it being either too young to get in or not having the money) it will be dragged in as a sign of moral deterioration, sliding values etc. You can wait for the first MP to bring it up, the usual suspects opportunistically bringing themselves some PR.
